During our three days in Copenhagen, we decided to stay in an Airbnb in the charming harborfront neighborhood of Island Brygge. We soaked in the local vibes and basked in all the natural sunlight streaming in the windows.

Location

Our Airbnb was a quick metro ride to-and-from the Copenhagen airport. During our stay, we were within walking distance to the waterfront, which is home to various boat rentals (we loved our Goboat), the famous Havnebade swimming pool, and the Circle Bridge. Even Tivoli Gardens is just a quick 20-minute walk across the Langebro, a drawbridge across the Inner Harbour.

If you have any grocery needs, there's a 7-Eleven, Kiosk, and grocery store just a block away from homebase. We ended up picking up some food for a home-cooked dinner one night (and some Vitamin Well - their version of Vitamin Water - to cure our hangovers).

The Space

In the style of a typical, old Copenhagen apartment, this second-floor walk-up is cozy but efficient (the bathroom doubles as the shower) with a newly renovated bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. Not to mention, the living room boasts a balcony and the kitchen has a washer/dryer (which is always a must when you're aiming to pack light on a long trip).

The furniture is a mix of new and recycled, featuring both Danish design and new Nordic style, which had me falling on the floor from distress, knowing that this wasn't my apartment.

If you're looking to feel right at home and live it up in Copenhagen like a local (or as close to a local as you can get), this is the place for you. Let us know if you end up staying here!
